Nate Whitehurst


Nate Whitehurst grew up in Manteo, North Carolina where he played at Manteo High. After graduating high school Nate went to Lenoir-Rhyne College in Hickory, North Carolina where he played soccer and was a team captain his senior year. He graduated with a degree in Sports Management and moved to the Tri-Cities area in 2008.

After college Nate wanted to use his soccer background to help younger players further their talents. In 2009, he was the Assistant Coach for the boy’s and girl’s soccer teams at Patrick Henry High School in Glade Spring, Virginia. Nate is currently the Head Coach for the Varsity Boy’s Soccer Team at Abingdon High School.

Nate recently completed the Master of Arts (M.A.) in Kinesiology and Sport Studies with a concentrations in Sport Management from East Tennessee State University.  Nate holds a NSCAA National Diploma.
